If I remembered how to do it right, I should have a decent fan mount in a couple months. A couple of the fan feather were broken when he was flopping, so right now they are held together with superglue. I'm hoping it's a permanent fix.

Red It wil work fine. I make my own shields from angle cut cedar and I turn a round disk to hold the feathers on. Lately I have been giving away the feathers or using them to make arrows.

They say 3-5 weeks on this. It's been 3 and I think I'll let it go for another 3.
Last time I think I waited about 9 months before I got around to it ;D
I bought a mount by HS which is the same as the current mount I have. They seemed to go up in price over the last few years --- 20 bucks seems a little steep for what it is.

I too use 20 Mule Team Borax and it appears I have been using the same mount as you. At least mine looks just like your. I have been using whatever is being sold by Dick's Sporting Goods.

I want to say HS STRUT makes it. The two kits I have used look identical on the presentation side and noly very minor differences on the mounting side.
I figured I might as well make them match.

...Last time I think I waited about 9 months before I got around to it... I haven't gotten around to mounting mine yet that I shot April a year ago. It's still out in the garage wrapped in Borax.
