Had some swede steel from old crosscut saw blades and had made a few knives out of it but havent for a while as I had too cut the blades to shape with a diamond saw. Well a friend said to try a plasma cutter so we did and the blades after final shaping lost NO temper. The original saw blade was over 100 years old and hard as a bankers heart. A carbide drill skids on the steel but it is still flexible. Some of the best steel i have ever had, I use scraps for cut off tools in the lathe. Anyhow here is the test knife a simple butcher knife for gutting and butchering. The blade is so sharp you can shave hair in half without touching your arm. The other knife is a rehandled OLD green river knife. Attachments:

Hmm, If I could talk my brother into buying a plazma cutter, I would give him the welder I don't use and don't care to develop the skills with? With 3 brothers(the other two brothers are out of state) and a Dad who are better welders, why bother?
