I ordered a Mueller holographic sight from SWFA the other day. I bought it in black (opposed to camo) in case I wanted to put it on a gun someday.
When I get this mount and sight, I'll take it over to the archery shop and get everything set up. That gives me about 3 months to figure it out.
Hopefully it's $175 well spent and it will solve my either mental or actualy problem in seeing deer through a peep sight. From what I gather, it's a love or hate deal with this holograph. Anchor points seems to be the key.

DD, Never used anything but a peep except on the old bows they had at gym class and the old fiberglass bear I used as a kid.
PBR, Which retical option did you use the CQB or Euro or just a single dot?
I still use a anchor spot even on my 1894 44 mag rifle. I just place a little rubber foot from some electronics in the sweet spot on the stock so i get the same sight picture each time. It really helps in my snap shooting that i bought this rifle for. I do pratice offhand at target 25 50 and 75 out where i will mount rifle and fire a round in 10 seconds or less. That seems to be the time I get before they run if I bump em good.
Had a friend put one on a X-bow and he went with the euro as he said he just needed a 20 yard and a 40 yard dot with it. Heck I have 4 pins on my pse.

wow! Red spent 175.00 for a sight for his bow, and it wasn't too long ago you couldn't alk him into paying more than 100.00 for a decent scope for a rifle? go figure, who would have thought? Red back when i was shooting a bow i had issues at low light useing a peep site and being able to see the deer. i just took a drill bit out and kept boreing the hole out a tad until i had enough light at low light conditions to see what i was aiming at. i know it hurt the precision thing i guess but i figured i would rather see the deer to be able to get a shot off opposed to not seeing it through the peep site but haveing it shoot more precise during daylight hours. (the smaller the hole in the peep site the more accurately/precise you should be able to align your sites)

I'm not sure what reticle I will go with --- I do have 4 choices. It will depend on where I can get the arrow to hit at varouis distances. I want to play around and hopefully (in the case of your friend) get a 15/30 or 20/40 type of situation going on.
I obvouisly don't like spending money but I felt I had to give this a try. This is my last ditch effort to really use a bow. I've outright killed one deer with a bow, missed probably a half dozen, and wounded probably a half dozen. Obvouisly something is very very wrong and I know it's got something to do with the peepsight.
Every time I go bow hunting, I know I'm wasting my time. Last year I had a doe standing at 25 yards, I draw back, and say "oh no...not again".
I don't have a place to go rifle hunting. Public land rifle and muzzleloader hunts are not a given - you may hunt for 3 weeks and never see 1 deer. Bow hunting is the way to ensure that you at least have a chance.
I think it's time to do something drastic

I got both of my items today. I didn't have time to put it on the bow, but I did take some pictures. I have this gut feeling that it's going to work great. I'm just eyeballing the sight at different distances and I have the feeling I'm going to be dead on at 15 and 25 yards. It's pretty heavy though - that's my only negative thought for the moment.
