Here in the midwest we love our tenderloins. And I consider myself a conniseur of Tenderloins. There are 4 really good places to get them in Des Moines. Smittys, Ted's Coney Island,Porky's, and George the Chili King's. I understand they are not available in the NE and many places outside the mid-west and those people have my sympaties. A Tenderloin is Pork Tenderloin sliced, pounded out to about the size of a platter, dipped in egg and rolled in cracker crumbs(or your favorite breading) and deep fried. Put on a large bun along with onion lettuce, tomatoes catsup Mustard and pickles. George, a Greek came home after WWII and opened the first drive-in Resturant in Iowa(This was the hot rodders hang out in the 50's & 60's) and is still run by his family. Some of the best eating in Des Moines. Georges Fat Boy special, includes 2 slices of Cheese and a slab of ham to the above description and is a favorite I get whenever I feel like treating myself. Uh This Aint Diet Food, I don't do this just before a Cholesterol test! ;D

That looks good! I've had pork tenderloin, of course, but never prepared that way.

It does look good! It also looks like something ESPN's Tod Blackledge would show on the "Taste of the Town" section of their Saturday nite college football games.

The other white meat, does it tast like Chicken? LOL. No Bounce, it tastes like Tenderloin. Jack I knew they were'nt done that way in Upstate Ny. Loren & Pam Edwards, both grew up on the Southside of Des Moines and pastored a church in Corning, Ny for several years. Pam is as crazy about Tenderlions as I am and said she never found one in the state fixed this way.

Chicken fryed steak never tasted like chicken either and I love them if it's good steak and not soybeans. Last I knew we have a place in Niobara that serves elk steak that way.

Chicken Fried Steak would be the closest thing to that I've ever seen in my parts. But I like pork tenderloin as much as any meat out there, so I'm certain I'd like that sangwitch.... ;D

Oh I might add that when the wife makes these at home she uses Buttermilk instead of egg to dip them in before breading.
My daughter is allergic to eggs and anything with eggs in it. This resulted in our becoming fanatical label readers. It's hard to find any prepared food that does not have eggs. We became Mother Earth Type organic farmers back in the 70's and had a garden of almost an acre so we had control of what went into out pantry. In an effort to control my daughters health.
