Now i got to get a few bales of straw for the new areas of the lawn so i might as well get a few extras to go around the block target so i don't miss and bend or loose a few arrows. She is a vintage 1995 PSE f1 maxus limited edition. Nothing fancy and out of date for a bow so to speak. Still using the 2117 alum arrows and muzzy 125 grain heads. At 70 pounds she is a little shaky as I have not shot it since last November and the arms are a bit out of shape as that is not a motion I normally make unless I am shooting. Anyone still use an old compound or is everyone on the new faster smaller brace height compounds. In my bow hunting circle you would think I was using a traditional bow made in 1903 from the razzing I get when they see I still use the overdraw feature.

Here you said "old" bow and I thought you were going to bust out a Bear Whitetail Hunter. At least yours has a powercam on it.
I like the longer bows. Today the rage is the small ones that look like a child's size.

I have my old Jennings setup for fishing Circa 1983. It is a real toy compaired to the PSE but make a nice bow fishing rig. The streams are up and dad said the carp are in the fields maybe I dusted off the wrong one,
I got the jennings from an old girlfriend whose ex left it in the closet when he moved out. I did kill two deer with it.

I have a bow hunting friend that must buy a new bow every year or two and takes a real hit money wise each time. I know the new ones are faster and have a bit more distance but at the price of new bows these days I think if I get a new one I will just get one of his hand me downs. He bought the same setup as my pse one year before I bought mine. He has now switched to hoyt but has a backup mathews and a bow tech or two also.

Some guys are in it for the tech. Some of us are in it for the hunt. Others are in it for the ballistics experiment at the end of the hunt. Some others, who shall remain nameless for now, are in it as an excuse to play with gadgets.

I have never learned to like the way a compound draws. If I dusted off my old bow, it would be a bear Take Down Recurve. Still think it's the hunter not the equipment that gets the game.

I shot the PSE yesterday and forgot to use the 4 targets on my block. One arrow is now minus one feather. It seems to be putting the shots into nice little groups for not having been shot in 5 months.
I would like to get one of the Black widow takedowns. I had a chance at one several years ago but I think I looked to intrested in it and raised the price up on myself. I dhould have used to old POKER face.
