I got my deer sausage back from last year. It's the stuff that gets real hard on the outside and soft/raw consistancy in the middle. 50 pounds made out in BFE in a chicken coop. Good stuff though - guy said he cleaned the coop before making the sausage. I'll be eating off this for a while as I still have a couple packs of 07 sausage still in the freezer. Thats fine though because I normally don't kill 3 deer a year. So this needs to last probably 2 years.

50 pounds of deer sausage would not last long around my house. I have a tendance to give a roll or two away to friends who like it.
Good eating that is for sure. I like the chicken coop idea....... Eggs and sausage.

Eggs and sausage. I gotta agree w/ you jmarriott.... 50 poyunds ain't much!!! But on the other hand if you run out it makes you "want" more before the next season gets here..... I try to hide one roll in my freezer for each of the upcoming Rifle and MLing seasons. The boys always have to eat some while hunting and preparing for next spring and summers batch.

Fifty pounds of sausage would be a whole lot for me. We don't have 300 pound deer around here. A lot of our deer only yield 60-70 lbs of meat. Steaks, chops, and some ground meat don't leave much for sausage.

Well a 50 pound sausage might be a lot for SOME guys... Mine almost all goes to my daughter they go through a 10 pound roll in a week. I got a buddy who hunts deer every year, has it all made to sausage and then gives it to ME! He feels guilty because he doesn't like to eat deer. I keep telling him what nasty stuff it is and why he should thank me for taking it off his hands.

Double limit and it's legal;D
