Ok I'm just starting to get in to this spring turkey hunt this year.
I have never done much hunting of them, Went the 1st year Nebraska had a sesion 1969 I think, Had a lot of fun, Turkeys then were not anything in numbers as today and between 4 hunters we got two, as I was about to pull the tigger on mine my partner shot it from a few yards ahead of me, no hard feeling as I was the one calling it in and that was a blast but after it was dead the fun was over.
I did go out and call turkeys in the spring many times after that but did not hunt them as they were all dressed and cheaper at the store.
I moved on this farm in 1979 and my best turkey caller was put up on a shelve in my shop I do have a much smaller one but this one in the shop vanished. Well today I went out determand to see if I could find it and it's fate?
Well I did find it and in pretty good shape all things considerd It was still in it's box and had mud dobbers but cleaned up nice still has chalk on it and works. What brand you ask?
It's the M L LYNCH Worlds Champon Turkey Caller. The rubber bands had desinigrated totaly but the rest is just fne.
It allways seemed so big to carry hunting but as far as calling for this dummy it allways workd realy good, [remember I would go out just to call then in but din't hunt]
My only other call is a LOHMAN NO. 110 TURKEY CALL
The LYNCH call I offten would use it just to even find the turkeys in the 1st place as with the rubber bands you can shake it to gobble and I would stop the car get out and shake it and if nothing annswered back I would drive on 1/2 mile and try again till I got an answer. Anyway I'm happy to have it again for this year.
