When hunting sometime ago. It's a conventional type, Truefire buckle. I have modified it, cut/remove the buckle and changed it to...something similar like this... hires.basspro.com/is/servlet/izoom/BassPro/33459?But the handle & mechanism are different. (too hard for me to explain it in English?). Problem is, I always bring a rifle instead of my bow.... --- The " idea" is, when I find game beyond 30 yds I could use my rifle, but could grab the bow & an arrow when the game is under 35 yds. I am talking about hunting by jeep, at night, w/ spotlight, here. (I now this is not your method of hunting overthere....I just like to experiment overhere, lol...This/my hunting method is 100% legal in Indonesia, btw. I made a custom bracket on top of my jeep, which can be used to put either for rifle, or the bow. I put the release on the "d-loop", thought it would be more faster to use when find a game. But, I did forget that so many wood/tree branches in my area...I am sure it was because the release was hit by tree branches, and dropped. (I put my bow facing down, the string up). Well, I ordered another one via Ernie. ;D I am already good on paper/dummy target, but unfortunately, I still did not have a chance to shoot my bow on game, yet.... seb

Are you finding it hard to get a clear and close shot?

Yep. I had no luck to find a game (whether it is a deer or pig) under 35 yds, or finding a clear shot. I actually had one chance sometime ago when hunting treestand, but there were many tree branches infront of me (the local guide did not know the requirement for bow shooting)...could not even draw my bow - so I used my rifle! ;D I hunt very rare lately, rainy season, busy etc....Some months from now, maybe around July, it will be dry season here - I must have a chance or even some...

Jmarriot, I think you're right. I would also try the release like this (back tension type?)...http://hires.basspro.com/is/servlet/izoom/BassPro/33459? instead of the buckle type.
