I need a few guinea pigs

Scott and I have been working on creating a new website to be the homepage/domain for this site.

To better match the two websites, I think changing the default colors on this forum could be a good decision so long as it looks ok. Of course you can continue to use any of our color choices (orange, blue, green).

I played around on the forum and think I've come up with the best color combination I can that allows for the text to be seen. This is very close to the new website. What I'd like is for a few people to test out this new color for a few days (so you can get used to it) and then report back.

There would be a few minor changes but you get the idea.

To change your settings, go to:
Profile
Modify Profile
Select Skin (under the account preferences section)
Domain Default (that's the name of the color)
Modify Profile


So if you'd like - make the change and we'll talk again perhaps monday afternoon.

OK I did That.

I don;t like orange... but it's no big deal to me.

I always set it to green. I think it hurts my eyes less.

I tried the blue but don't like the green floresent bars.

I will try a few more.

Mines been set on Blue for a long time.
I tried all the colors when I set it up and it was the one that seemed least offinsive to my eyes and all colors of print were visible. Red print that some used was not legible with Orange

I am specifically looking at the color called "default domain" though for this little test.

Like I said, by using the forum for a few days under that setting I'm trying to avoid the initial "shock" of something new.

So be thinking "Does this new color apeal to me? If not, would this color apeal to others? Does it look so bad that new users would opt not to sign up"

OK, I selected "Domain'.
I'm getting blue headers and a white background.
Looks good in the first glance- let me live with it for a while and see how it holds up.

That's the wrong one Jack. Don't select the "default" (the 3rd one down). That's the white one that came with the forum when it was new.

We're looking for "domain default" (the last one). It's brown, yellow, and orange.

Looks okay to me. Easy to read, even for these old eyes.

And I can't take much credit for building to new website. I', just a real dumb ass when it comes to website building. The technology, which is about as user unfriendly as it gets, just can't worm it's way into my brain....

Wellllll it's differant; but not hard to read. I think I could get used to it alright. BTW I had been using the red white and blue. I'll stick w/ this and let you know.

Defualt domain looks better to me than the all orange one I have as default.

I finally got so I just could not tolerate the orange any longer and changed my background over to white.

I tried your suggested change and like it less than the white I changed mine to. I went back to the white.

Red:

No offense, but I like the brown/yellow/orange even less than I liked just orange. Like I said though, I have settled on whatever comes with the white background, so make the default hot pink with purple pokadots if you want.
