Last gun show I found a deal one an old shotgun case that the dealer just wanted to move since he had no gun to go inside. It is aluminum and felt covered wood design and I believe was a factory offering but I cannot find a maker of gun brand stamp on it.
I put it on its end and it was hip high. I offered him 25 dollars on the last day of the show and he accepted the offer of half what he was asking. I did not know for sure if my carbine would fit but i knew the case was worth 25 dollars. My little 1894 is less the 34 inches long. the case outside seemed to be 36. One little plywood felt covered board would have to be removed for sure but everything else should fit nearly perfect.
After a quick removal of the plywood everything seems to have fallen in place.
The scout scope with warne quick detach rings fit perfect in the forearm slot. the factory trigger/lever lock fit in the bottom barrel slot along with a cheap nylon sling. The stoney point shooting stick fits up in the top barrel slot.
two boxes of winchester 240 grain JSP white box don't move when stored under the lever area. The skinner peep sight does extend into the felt on top for a tight fit and the original strap hold the gun in the case well.
Paperwork goes under the stock so everything just fits like it was built for the rifle.
Time on this project was minimal but finding the perfect fit for everything and the perfect price for the case was priceless. I did have to replace the bottom feet of the case with some new plastic feet and have to take it into the locksmith to research keys that fit as they were missing when i purchased the case.
This turned out to be the best gun show find in the last few years.
