I am in the process of trying to buy a house now (nothing in mind yet)
I'm looking to be in as soon as possible. Hopefully I will be in it by mid-april
If by chance I'm still fooling around, then questions do come up on my availability for this hunt
4 months is a good ways to go so hopefully there won't be a problem

I may of wasted my time making this thread ;D ;D ;D Looked at 3 today that aren't going to work No sooner I wrote that post here and my cousin/agent emailed me a fresh list of houses. I see the perfect house not 2 miles from where I grew up. Look at it tomorrow but I've already got that feeling in my gut

I calmed down off my high, sat down, and tried to find something wrong with that house. They did an update to the entire house and for whatever in the year 2008 did not put a dishwasher in the kitchen. Well those brand new cabinets and countertops can be thrown in the garbage Makes me wonder what else he did half*** So back to the drawing board

Like everything else that is used, people want too much money for their worthless crap ! I have two requirements 1. I have to buy for under 135,000 2. It must be able to stand a gentle breeze without falling over So far I've yet to find much that meet those qualifications Basically I'm looking at houses 30-40 years old that have their original everything still in them I've got one in mind that's about exactly what I want but right when I was leaving I noticed the roof's rakeboard and cornerboard (I guess they're called) was starting to rot. If the search continues not to go well, I might go back to that house and take a closer look to see what's going on. I'm not sure how big of a problem that really is. I'm looking about 30 miles west of St. Louis now. So next week we're going to look a little further to the western most edge of the suburbs where you get a little newer house for the money.

Problem is someone bought an older house 10 years ago for $140,000 (when things were booming) - did nothing to improve it - and now want 150,000 in a recession. Doesn't help the real estate agent inflates the price to get the listing too.
Not going to happen but they are staying firm on their price despite being on the market since the summer.
You can bet that I'm going to low ball them b/c I'm not going to be in this mess. I can't help it you have to take a huge loss or not make a big profit like you think you should. That's not my problem.
