Sat morning I go to my tree stand where dad killed a yearling with a crossbow last week. The leaves were pretty wet so you had a hard time hearing things on the ground as well as the noise of water dripping out of the trees. So at 815 I hear deer walking hard to my right so I got turned around waiting to see where they were going. And the enevitable happens --- I hear something to my left. I turn my head and here are the big doe and the other yearling 20 yards away and walking right at me. So I get turned around without them seeing me. But when I draw back at 15 yards she sees me and leaps into an opening where I could get a clear shot. I squeeze the trigger right as jumps again though and shoot over her. This shows my inexperience and impatience bow hunting as I could of killed her a half dozen times with a rifle. I should of just stayed facing right and hoped that she would walk right by me without looking up. Then pull the bow back when she was facing away. That's what happens when you get 1 chance a year - you don't know any better...
