What would a 1990 Ford 150 Ranger XLT 2 wheel drive , 6 cilliders, auto, bed liner with 36,000 miles bring on a action? any guesses? as one is comeing up for sale soon around hear. I my self don't have a clue but expect it to be high as old pickups in the past with low milage sold way more than their worth but I haven't seen this happen now for many years. so don't know?

It's worth whatever the last man standing bids.... Seriously sometimes them 6 banger pick ups got worst gas mileage than the V8's.. BUT that won't sink into some peoples heads. In these hard times people want something easy on gas. As to the 1990 Ford 6 cylinder I don't know what it will get for mileage..............

It'll get 14 MPG. I used to have one. My brother has one now. Mine had 175K when I sold it. His has 190K now and he has NO intention of selling it.
I'd probably give $3500 for it if I was in the market for a truck I was gonna drive forever. But I don't drive things forever. Once it has 75 or 80 K on it... I think it's value will be almost nothing.

Kinda my thinking jabba a few more miles and it is just an old tuck. The last one if I remeber right was a 1965 chevy with 9,000 miles and sold in the mid 1980's for $7,000 I know that was rediculas to me. Thought I may go watch though if nothing else is pressing that day? But then if gas is that poor? Why bother.

Look up the retail value on something like the Kelley Bluebook (on the web) and don't bid any more than they show it's worth.

36,000 miles, 136,000, or 236,000 ... or more I sure wouldn't trust an auction company to give you the right information

I won't hazard a guess as to what it would bring. Depends too much on how it was maintained. I once talked my brother-in-law into buying a 1960 pontiac(this was in the 80's) with only 40,000 miles on it. Driven by a friends mother. It was one good looking car, but all gaskets had dried out, fuel lies had deteriated, carboned up from only being driven in town, and it turned out to be a sorry piece. I would rather buy one with a 100,000 miles on it that had been well maintained and driven on the highway often.

I had a 1980 vintage 4 cyl 2.2 and with a top end engine rebuild and a new tranny i got over 400 k out of it and it was still running when i sold it for 400 bucks.
The reason i got such a good amount of life out of it was it had not a single optional accessory at all. No ac, No raido, No power steering, no power brakes, not even an ashtray or cig, lighter. Nothing to break, If it got under 10 degrees you better have 3/4 a tank of gas or the injectors froze, In a way i still miss looking at the ground through the hole in the floorboard while driving.
