One Way Kind of a generic question as you probably have a bunch of different places you go. But for me, they are suprisingly about the same distance. There's a conservation area about 20 miles away but I don't go there except during the summer where I may only have a couple hours to play before the sun is high. Most of the time I drive about 60 miles to about 4-5 different places. Takes just under an hour so that's not too bad. I just hate spending 20 dollars to kill 3-4 squirrels or see no deer

I will drive as far as it takes to get my fix. I can hunt within miles of the house but steelhead in the fall and good deer land is often hours away and only a good drive will get me to my fix.
3 or four hours one way at 65 miles per hour,

I voted the usual max 10-20 but it is realy back door to about 40 miles out occasonaly for deer or turkey and that back, but the long trips are just for hunting new country.

Once a year I make a long trip to deer hunt with friends in another state. The hunting's good there, but, there's good hunting closer, too- it's the friends that get me to drive a long way.

I've been known to drive 10-15 miles, but in my old age most of my hunting was within ATV distance of home.
Whoops! Should have voted "It varies". Although I have a stocked trout stream just a few hundred yards from home, and a bass lake about 2 miles away, I usually drove from 15-30 miles for any serious fishing.

Having almost 4,000 acres public hunting for small game waterfowl & Deer, within a mile of the house I rarely drive 10-20 miles to hunt.

Unfortunately the hunting close to home is limited. Deer hunting is about 125 miles one way. While we used to make the weekend run to bow hunt that quit a few years ago. So now we go for 10 days in a row for rifle season but rarely make the trip other than that. The closest grouse hunting that is any good is about 150 miles away with the best areas farther than that. For fishing it varies. The closest is Lake Winnebago about 30 miles to the east side. Unfortunately we usually fish the west side which adds another 40 miles. Average distance is around 100 miles.
We can't move though. Grandma would be too far away from grandchildren.

I drove about 300 miles round trip for deer/elk. Due to some luck, 2009 will be done 18 miles from home. Dove are about 80 miles r/t. Dan
