well in a little over a week i'll find my self fishing in Tampa Bay for a day. mostly we'll be drinking and catching what ever is stupid enough to be caught be a bunch of drunks. sometimes the biggest fight aint what you hook into, but the big rascal that tries to take your catch from you on the way in. even average size fish (2lb-5lb) range in the ocean puts up a huge fight compared to their size. i'll have at least two of the midgets with me, i'm hoping they hook into something that fishes back. should be a kodak moment when they get that "Oh Shit" look in their eye as they try to keep from loosing the rod and real. stay tuned and i'll have a report back after the trip.

Jimh, you going to be pier fishing? That can be a lot of fun- you never know what you'll catch. And talking to the locals is good entertainment, too.

my wife has kin down in the clearwater/tampa area. the one cousin has a boat and will be taking me out. last time we were down there we hooked a ton of grouper but no real keepers. then we hit some Cobia, some whitetip shark, a bunch of sea catfish that day and one tarpen that schooled me. would love to hook up on some Snook but i'll take whatever wants to bite as long as it fights.

well we did a little surf fishing at the condo but our boat fishing got changed. it seems all the kids have gotten big enough that we (the dads) can't get out by ourselves for a day to fish without breaking their hearts. so our day of boat fishing turned into a day long bbq and tubeing. we pulled those kids around on the tube until they called uncle. as far as the surf fishing i did manage to catch a few but nothing to brag about. the picture is one of the middle boy trying hos luck out.

Tampa, huh?
I would be tempted to say "Here's 200 bucks hun, take the kids to Busch Gardens. We're going fishing"

I'm glad you had a good time down there ... must-a been hot though.... If it weren't for saltwater fishin, I probably wouldn't even go fishin.... I'm thinking of getting a new ride ... all I have to do is get the little women's approval and that 19' CC, Parker with 150 hp 4 stroke Yamaha will be parked in my drive way...
What kind of fish did you catch down there?

bubba we caught ocean catfish, jack carvel, some thing i have no clue to and a baby threasher shark. all just from the beach where we're staying. Red, there have been a ton of 18-25 yr old female hard bodies on the beach every day. my thirteen year old is about ready to bust just looking at it all. oh we went to busch's gardens yesterday (free tickets) and road some great roller coasters! i've been eating blackened fish of some sort or raw fish of some sort all week long. and about 8 gal's of rum in some sort of drink. some more pics it's a rare moment when we can get all three to smile
