So, I seen the posts about people using HHO or Brown's gas to run their vehicle on and getting 40% increase in mileage and a smoother running engine to boot. Their using distilled water and baking soda and in some cases adding acetone to the water etc. Really interesting what their doing. My kids great great uncle took an engine to Ford after world war I for them to look at. It ran on as he said "Water" and actually something similar to "Browns Gas" Ford laughed at him and sent him home. For years he built things for engines that improved gas mileage. I remember he has a 59 Ford Retractable Hard Top with a 352 engine in it that got better than 20 mpg which in those days was awesome. Has anyone tried any of these add on's yet? ??/

I haven't seen or heard of any of this but I'll be the first one to conclude, based on the present and projected gas prices, that alternative fuels may be a more viable solution now than ever before.

Bill if I go anywere theis days, I like to get their without walking. Pepole have ben burning water in motors for 100 years, some even worked seting still but moveing not so well. The Oil Pull that I have that was made in 1917 did about the best of all. It runs the water through the exshast first and it enters the carbrater steaming and is injected seprate from the fuel, kinda anyway!! I never used it my self but the old timers did say it was a power boost when added when the motor was working and siting still on the theasher. Other farm tractors allso used water but not very well. My McCormick Deering 22-36 Has a water tank with the water line removed so no one would be tempted to try. I think we have to wait on the special Hydogen cars for hope.

bill i had posted some water injection links on that other thread in the general forum a little while back. i remember back in th elate 70's, early 80's my buddy's dad bought a water injection kit for his suburban that he used to pull their airstream. the unit was derived from a water injection that they used back in WWII on the plane engines. keeps the pre-detination down when pulling a heavy load up hills and under hot weather. he said it helped a lot when towing that airstream through the hills. here's a lonk from earlier, i don;t know if it is anything like what you are looking at now. www.runyourcarwithwater.com/?hop=opmind&gclid=cpcd9rgynjicfqigpaodbjuqng

It's one of those "too good to be true issues for me".
I might try it with a lawn mower or something else I could afford to throw away.

Jabba that's a good idea, but my plan is to wait until someone i know tries it and see how it goes. why ruin anything of your own when you can have fun watching a friend ruin something you don't have to pay for.

There is a lot of people out there saying that their uncles cousins brothers mothers sister gets a 40% up to 70% increase in gas mileage but not many that say their getting it. Most say they don't have it but know someone that does. WTF then how can you say you know it works unless you try it yourself.

Yup. In my younger days the old timers told me that somebody invented a new fangled carburetor that would get your V8 passenger car 70-80 miles per gallon. The invention was supposedly bought by an oil company, never to see the light of day again..... ;D

My uncle use to use a water injection system on his pickup when he was hauling his camper through the mountains and on the interstate. More so to stop the knock from pre ignition than anything else but he always said that it improved his mileage and that the engine had a lot more power for pulling. His pickup had a 454 CI engine in it. I would really be interested in knowing if this Brown's Gas worked any at all as any improvement would almost be worth it at the price of gas right now.

Gas jumped from $3.55 to $3.85 here in Indiana yesterday. Unfortunately, I had a 370 mile road trip for work, and I had to buy gas at BOTH prices yesterday.
