well folks we came home early, 3" of rain in the last 24 hrs, with some lightning, throw in a stint of sleet and a dash of snow. trucks and trailers stuck in mud everywhere and every tent floor flooded, sleeping bags wet and cloathes soaked. not one kid complained, but all rejoced when we told them we where going home early. ;D i'm tell'n ya it just plain flat threw everything at us from the start and never stoped. oh temps dropped like a rock during that time too.

Sounds like one of my Boy Scout camp outs. ;D we had one onetime where it poured all night. Had about 5"s of rain. Let me tell you those old Boy Scout pup tents did nothing to keep the rain out and I was using my dads old WWII sleeping bag. That did even less to keep out the rain. All I had to wrap that sleeping bag in was a piece of oil cloth wrapped around me. Did I mention it was cold too. Woke up the next moring with about 3"s of rainwater inside the tent. I vowed at that time to never again go camping. Then someone tipped over a wooden bench that must of weighed about 50 lbs and it fell on my foot and broke my big toe. By the time I got home I had to have my toe set and tapped to my other toe so it wouldn't flop around and wear a wooden shoe for a couple weeks. Really ruined my Boy Scout camp out. Took me a number of years to get over that one. Someone would say camping and I would get sick and had to stay home.

Bill, exactly why we called it when we did and end it on a high note rather than a hypothermia one. the boys can all walk a tad higher in their shoes when they tell their story to all the scouts that pussed out on the trip and didn't go. yet we got them out of there before they where ruined for life. now hopefuly they'll trust us in the future.
