First off, I would like to welcome you to Hunting Firearms forums via Proboards.
About us:
This site was formed to provide our members a place to relax, form close friendships, and discuss a wide variety of outdoor topics in a non-threatening, non-commercial environment.
Here at Hunting Firearms, we have some simple rules and guidelines which need to be addressed and followed. We do monitor these forums closely, and we expect the guidelines to be followed. Failure to obey these rules places the member subject to disciplinary actions which include the editing, closing, or deletion of a thread, a written warning via private message or email, or permanent banishment to this site depending on the severity and regularity of the offence.
Rule #1: Flaming
Flaming includes written threats, personal putdowns, name-calling, etc. This can take place within a thread, private message, or email. Flaming will not be tolerated on this site. There is a difference between joking and flaming depending on the situation and tone. We try our best to distinguish between the two, and we would like you to consider this prior to jumping to conclusions.
Rule #2: Spamming
Spamming is the unwanted advertisement of a website, store, or attraction other than Hunting Firearms. This includes, but is not limited to, commercial sites and other outdoor forums. It is acceptable however to provide links when answering questions, providing news stories, or linking websites that do not threaten the membership of Hunting Firearms (such as games or jokes). Members can (and are encouraged to) place their website within the “homepage” section of their profile. Links, names of companies, or other innuendoes in a member’s signature will be considered spam and will be edited. Many times spam is obvious and is placed on our site intentionally. There will be exceptions for sites willing to exchange links. From time to time, there will questionable sites that our staff will judge on a case-by-case basis.
Rule #3: Indecency
This site is fairly liberal in our language, pictures, and humor. Excessive cursing (either by severity of the word or the excessive amounts of words), bigotry, or any sexually explicit material will result in the editing or deletion of a post with the possibility of further action. We do recognize there are several stages of curse words and this site wishes to keep all curse words to a minimum. To help with this, the forum is set up to censor certain words. Please do not go around this censor by adding spaces or symbols in-between letters. Use common sense and realize there are women, children, and religious people who view this site.
Rule #4: Politics
In polling members of past forums, it is our experience that politics should be left off this board. Being a firearms and outdoor website, we find it reasonable to keep our members informed of current and potential news and legislation concerning gun control and hunting privileges. Any topic along this line is open for limited discussion so long as the thread does not beat a dead horse (so to speak). There can (and will be) negative posts regarding the opposition. However, a certain amount of respect must also be given to the opposition. Name calling in regards to a person, group, or ideology will not be permitted (“treehugger” for example will not be permitted).
General Washington and state politics will not be permitted in any form unless it discusses a specific gun or outdoor related topic. Again, any name calling or excessive putdowns to a person, group, or ideology will not be permitted. The Hunting Firearms administrative staff has the final say on any threads that are started. Sometimes it will be a difficult decision on what can stay and what has to go. We try our best not to have double standards, and any of our personal political opinions will have no bearing on our decisions.
Rule #5: Concealed carry, Assault rifles, Semi-automatic pistols
Hunting Firearms is a site created for people who enjoy hunting and the guns associated with hunting. Concealed carry does not relate to hunting close enough to have a forum for it. Occasional concealed carry threads are accepted, but it is our wish not to make them a recurring topic. We understand assault rifles and semi-automatic pistols can and are used for hunting throughout the World. Again, Hunting Firearms is meant for hunting and target practice related to hunting. Any threads regarding these guns are welcome, but we wish them to be in limited quantities when not discussing the hunting aspect of them.
Rule #6: Site liability
There are many potential dangers involved in the shooting and hunting sports. This site and its owner (“Purebred Redneck”) accepts no responsibility if you decide to act upon another member’s suggestion(s).
Rule #7: The rights to create, amend, and enforce rules
The owner of the site (“Purebred Redneck”) and the administration reserves the rights to create, amend, and enforce the forum rules at any time. This site is a work in progress and we aim to constantly improve it.
We thank you for your cooperation in making Hunting Firearms the best forum on the World Wide Web.
