Y'all also have to stop and think that we, here in Delaware, kill 90% of our deer at 100 yards or less. Hell, 4 years ago, I killed a small, basket rack, 8 point at less then 20 yards.... So, Camo does help a lot. Out further west, where a lot of you guys are from, your shots are 100 yards and more... up to 300 from what I've read. A deer 200 to 300 yards away is not as likely to spot you if you are "blended in" with your surroundings.

Bubba, the 1st buck I ever killed was 5 or 6 FEET away! And I have still killed the VAST majority of my 40 deer within 40 yards. only 2 over 100. 105 and 140.
I like camo.

I think I've killed more deer on the ground with tan coveralls/orange vest than up in a tree in camo/orange vest.
Like bounce says, they see you and walk a few steps closer. That's the perfect time to make a neck shot when they're standing alert.

The best camo is a ceader tree, just sit under one the best or by one or stand by one, a deer is likely to never notice as that tree has allways ben their and they pay no notice as long as your still. and you can be coverd in orange as well.

To this day, I have never killed a deer out of a tree stand.
All of them on the ground.
