Well, I'll start making my way out of Iraq in a few days bound for Merry ol' England. Will start hunting on the 25th for Red Deer and Reeves Muntjac. Man, I just can't hardly wait. I'm starting to get a bit excited now.

Well, the people in this part of the world are pretty much savages for the most part. A hateful bunch of folks. They even hate their own kind. They hate the people that live down the road, that in the next village, the people that shop at a different market, and so on. These people don't just dislike everyone else, but they absolutley hate them. Pretty much savages in my opinion. They don't care to have anything more than their ancestors did two thousand years ago. These people are uneducated and unpredictable from my observations.. My hunting trip to the UK will be a real nice change!

Hello GilaMonster,
Wow, I really envy you that trip. I never made it there although I shelled out a bundle for my son to go there on his graduation trip in high school. He blew all his money on restaurants. I think the little snot hit every fish and chips joint in London. I remember giving him the amount of money the school recommended plus half again as much so he wouldn't have to count his pence. Yeah right, four days later he was on the phone to us, stone broke. When he finally got back home to Montreal he had 26cents left. No wonder the parents don't get to go anywhere. Culture is a wonderful thing, but I don't think he got much. Lets hope your trip is rewarding. Have fun. Best wishes.

Thanks calsibley! I have also been to Montreal and think it is the most beautiful city I have ever seen. A lot of pretty girls as well... Spent a few days up there in 2000 on my way up north to hunt Quebec-Labrador Caribou. The trip was a real hoot. Had the time of my life! I'll post a bunch of pictures of this trip to England when I return. You can bet on it. I leave here in a couple of days and it takes another four days or so to get out of this country and back to civilization and then on to London. It takes a long time to get out of this place safely.

Hello Gila,
I'm quite familiar with the problems of getting out of the Mideast countries. My work contract was up right during the middle of the Hadj. I think half the moslems in the world were coming into or going out from Mecca. Every available commercial plane was being leased and sent to Saudi Arabia to move people. Gawd what a nightmare. Took me 13 days to get to Kennedy airport. I'm kind of glad we westerners arent allowed to go to Mecca now. It seems every year a bunch of people are killed in one stampede or another, all in Mecca. Best wishes.

Tell me GM, what do you do for a living over there. Hunting in England, pile of new rifles - I suspect they pay better than they do here. Are they looking for any particular type of worker/professional?

Well, I used to be a terrorist target. Really! That's what I did for the first year over here. I drove in fuel tanker convoys. I have seen nearly all of Iraq at this time. Been blown up three times along the way. That was considered the most dangerous job in the world. Now I work in the fuel department at one of the bases. Not too much to worry about except for the occasional rocket or mortar round flying in a couple times a week. Yea, they're always looking for professional people for all sorts of jobs. For some reason, people don't seem to last that long in most of the jobs.
