I read this morning that the Astralian interior or outback if you prefer, is being overrun with camel. They were imported as a beast of burden when the country's heartland was being settled. They've since been let loose and have adjusted to the arid areas very nicely, so nicely in fact there are now estimated to be 650,000 of them. What to do with a no longer wanted ship of the desert. That's the question! The people in the arabic countries that eat them also have plenty so there isn't much of an export market. Possibly they could downsize them to drarf size and sell them to the pet market. I've seen them in Saudi Arabian supermarkets. I think they sell slightly less than goat and beef. I personally have never eaten one. Any ideas for helping our far away neighbors with this dilemma? Best wishes.

Well maybe with all the exotic Game in Australia & New Zealand and with all the political unrest on the dark continent of Africa. Down under might have great prospects as a Safari Destination?

I'd like to know what all is available in New Zealand. Occasionally I'll hear of game taken there I didn't even know they have. I would guess it's mostly been imported at some time in the past. It's seems the conditions are ideal for almost all creatures. Their 2 islands are about the size of California with something like 10% of the population. Sounds like it could be a hunters paradise. Any of you guys ever been there? Best wishes.

A friend of mine in Australia had his guns confiscated because they were not politically correct weapons. One was an expensive shotgun. Their laws must suck. I don't know their laws for ownership of rifles. But I think there could be an opportunity here for big game hunting. I can't imagine a shoulder mount camel in my den, but it might happen. I think a taste of camel might make or break the hunting option.
