I saw that South Dakota is selling Mountain Lions tags I believe for $15.00 each in an unlimited number. However when the quota for the season is reached (I think 35 ). The season is closed for the year. Damn it!!I thought Nebraska should do this but they never. Oh well maybe next year.

So they might sell 1000 tags but when 35 lions are checked in, the season closes? So you have to make a phone call before you go hunting?

My understanding is that you need to keep track. This is the same method S.D. & Nebraska used to use on snagging paddlefish. It is up to the permit holder to check before going.. In the case of paddlefishing it was closed @ sundown of the day the limit was reached therefore the "take" numbers were always a little over the limit.
