I was surfing around the net today trying to get some prices on full body goose field decoys.... them darn things are very expensive.... I haven't bought any goose decoys (except for some floaters) in 20 years ... man have they gone up in price... The cheapest I've found is $169.99 a HALF DOZEN!!!
If you calculate that out ... for 3 dozen decoys ... THAT'S $1019.94 .... IT'S RIDICULOUS!!!! I bought 8 floaters for $101... so that would work out to $152 a dozen ... but $339.98 a dozen is outrageous...
Does anyone know somewhere I could get 3 dozen, full body, goose decoys cheaper than that?

It's unbelievable that decoys can cost so much ... I can understand a hand made, cork decoy costing a bit more than a plastic, mass produced one but this is a lot of $ for a few decoys... I guess waterfowling is for the rich and famous these days ...
I recon what gets me is that after spending $25 for a license, $10 for a State Duck Stamp and $15 for a Federal Stamp, $1000 for Decoys and upwards of $25 a box for shells, we can ONLY TAKE 2 GEESE PER DAY!!

Here is hoping that some of the other game doesn't end up that way. There are too many places where it seems it is too expensive to hunt. When I was in Texas, it seemed a person had to grease palms to hunt anywhere.

You mean like upland, turkey, deer, archery, target shooting, claybirds, ahh...give me some time and I'll think of some more.

All of the above. The lottery for big game, that is larger than deer, probably is the only way around paying big bucks ofr licenses. It seems that at least in South Dakota, if a person is a native and know some land owners that person can get by without greasing palms. I saw this last year a lot of places that were only open to hunters that paid the rancher "guiding fees". I save some money by doing those things without having to go to Walmart or wherever and buying a camo outfit. BTW, I saw a guy deer hunting this year in a snow pattern camo outfit when there was no snow on the ground. I bet he really fooled a lot of game.

I found a guy that is going to sell me "Big Foot" Decoys at $250 a Dozen ... that's not quite as bad as $169.99 a half dozen ... but still expensive in my book ... this guy owns his own business and is going to sell me these things at his cost.... so it looks like I'll save a few hundred bucks on 3 dozen dekes...
I'm also going to get a couple dozen "Big Foot" floating mallard and black duck dekes.. so I should be pretty set up for next season....

Well, the plan is ... the ducks fly over the "big foot" .... see the lovely orchid he's holding and want to take a whiff if it's perfumey fragrance..... I set up close to the "big foot" .... but not too close..... and when they get close enough for the smell of the flower.... WHAMM!!! ....
Ducks on the grill ....
