This fall has been very wet. We have had a lot of rain, so pheasant hunting on opening week end was not as good as usual in this portion of the state. -- The farmers still had a good portion of their corn and soybeans in the field, so the pheasants were still in the fields. This last week however, the farmers had got a lot of crops out and the drainage ditches and the CRP had a lot more birds than last week. I suspect next week end will be better yet. I only hunted for a couple of hours and filled on Sunday.
