I ordered my new Spartan ... in 20 ga ... I even had enough left over for a few boxes of shells... I went to a different dealer... one I had not heard of before yesterday ... he charged me wholesale + 10% ... Well under what the other guy said.... in fact it was under the $375 mark... he also said that he had sold a mess of them and everyone he sold to, loved theirs... I will have to wait until next Wednesday to pick it up... he's going away for the weekend .... Anyway, it's done...
I'm taking the gift certificate I have and putting it away for a while... there will be something else I want, I'm sure... LOL ...

It seams I'm storin up on a crap load of guns as of late. I have been buyin' guns that are in need of repair, so I could get them cheap, useually. This has filled my racks fast, plus it gives me the oppertunity to learn more in the art of gunsmithin' at the same time. I just hope I can live with myself with such a weakness. I just gave it some more thought (2.5 quik seconds) & decided I can live with it. ;D ;D ;D

HERE WE GO AGAIN! As I was reading today's posts, my office phone rang and it was the dealer I asked to order my shotgun.... he is saying that he's called 4 distributors and they all have the same message...."there just isn't any to be had"... appearantly, the distributors have sold out and have no idea when they will be able to get more.... I could be waiting for a month or two before they are re-stocked and ready for shipping... so, he's giving me my money back and I'll have to go on the hunt again... this is really getting on my nerves ...
He's a nice enough guy and I know I'll do business with him again but I don't think it's a wise thing to leave my money with him for a couple of months while he waits to fill orders...
Hey, what do you guys think of that new Mossberg O/U? Looks like a nice shotgun... but looks aint everthing...

Hang in there Bubba. You already have that 20 gauge over and under, and the Mossy is more than likely the same gun, or VERY similar.
You can wait for that SxS.
See if the dealer called Grice Wholesale. They are one of the country's largest Remington dealers....800-334-7423
Heck, give them a call yourself and see if they have them in stock. You can't order from them, but they should tell you if they are available or not.

Bill, if I buy something that requires shipping through the mail, the cost jumps up $25 to $35 because of the paperwork involved and they have to be shipped through a gun dealer here in Delaware and then there's the freight cost on top of that... that's the only thing that keeps me from buying anything through auctions or on line... Man I wish my old buddy hadn't moved to AZ... I could get anything in the world shipped to me through him and it never cost me a dime.
I may have to go that route or get me a FFL ... ;D ...

Hey Bubba, it's only a hop, skip, and a jump up to Cabela's in Hamburg PA for you.... Well, maybe a couple hours, but still not too awful far... ;D

There you go Bubba, Problem solved. Except that you pay sales tax by doing that. Its about a toss up in costs but if you have to pay someone to recive it then the price jumps up a bunch. Some places like California charge the customer as much as 15% of the cost to recive the gun. Thats hi-way robery if you ask me. Steady customers we don't charge a dime to recive a gun for them. One timers get charged $25 which is about average. Still unless your buying a gun that costs around $1000 then its cheaper to go thru your local dealer and order it.
