I finally got that 16 GA H&R single shot.
It's sort of purdy if you ask me.
But... the manual hammer is in the way of the sight line down the barrell. Even with the hammer cocked.
Bill, is there anything to be done about that?

Oh God !!! You reminded me Jabba - I left my H&R 20 in the truck from last week and now it's red This is going to take ALOT of steel wool Something's not right when you can see the hammer over the barrel even when cocked. I tried every angle possible on my gun and there was no way it would even come close. All I could suggest is to see where it shoots when you put the bead on top of the hammer (as opposed to the bead on top of the barrel)

Some of them had hammers with a notch in the middle of the top for a sight but don't think this is one of them. Heck if it sticks up that high maybe someone put the wrong hammer on it or something. Its really hard to say without seeing it. Its kind of like hey, I have this gun, how much is it worth. LOL

Yeah... I KNOW it ain't worth anything. But I like to have a notch in all my guns.

Jabba, how old is this gun? Does it have a Marlin, NEF, or H&R stamp on it. Is the pistol grip rounded or cut on an angle. The ones with rounded grips made in the last couple years are inferior to the older ones (that are still being sold brand new at wallmart).

I'll look at it. I bought it unseen for $50. and only momentarily handled it. I'll let youknow.
