I helped coach a mosquito level football team my son played for so I got to learn the game fairly early on after moving here. The athletic quality isn't as good at the US pro level, but I think the game is more interesting because of the rules. For example there are no motion penalties. Once lined up all four backs can move in any direction they want. And the end zones are 20yds. deep, not ten, so there's a lot of room to move about. A fair catch is not allowed. You will return the ball, like it or not, unless it's out of bounds (must be given 3 yds. to catch a punt) or you wish to concede a point. Having 3 downs instead of 4 on a series makes for a more wide open game. If a punt goes into your end zone, you can take a knee, but it'll cost you 1 point (a rouge) same thing if you can't get back out with an opponents missed field goal. I don't think the Canadian game will ever make the big time, but it's interesting. The field is both longer and wider than those in the States. Do anyone here ever watcj the Canadian game? Best wishes.

Refer to the humor forum. This reminded me of a joke...

I have seen a few games, but Canadian football isn't often broadcast in the US. It is a more wide open game, with an emphasis on passing. If you like running the football, and defense, well... maybe not the game for you. All in what you're used to, I guess.
