I was cleaning up around my Dad's place and spied a groundhog sneaking out from under one of the barns... so I went home and got my 10/22.... went back and sat in my truck for a few minutes and watched one of his holes... about 15 minutes later the little bugger stuck his head out .... that 6 X 16 I have on the ole 10/22 really zeroed him up for me ... I squeezed off one round and struck him right betwixt the eyes... he slid back about 10" in his hole but he didn't move...
That's one for this year... maybe I'll have a little time to see if I can't get a few more this year...

Congratulations Bubba. It's nice to see you're no longer shooting them from the upper level of your house, at least not so soon after an operation. Best wishes.

Cal, that story is one of Mrs. Bubba's favorite ones to tell people when she wants to tell them how much I like Hunting and Fishing... LOL ...

Hello Bubba, I'm almost embarrassed to mention this, but I took a shot at a woodchuck once leaning on the top of my car. Did I mention it was a convertible and split the fabric from one side to the other? So you see some of us were using duct tape when Red was still in diapers. Damn good thing I had a roll of it in the trunk since it rained on the way home. Dumb and dumber comes to mind. Best wishes. Cal - Montreal

Cal, If you want to talk about dumb things to do while hunting..... My brother-in-law (in his fever to drop a 10 point buck while it was running) shot at the buck and missed .... that wasn't so bad but he didn't look beyond his target to see that his brand new 1974 Dodge pickup was directly in the line of fire..... Yep, he put a nice 12 ga. pumpkin ball right through the grill and the radiator.... we had to get towed out of the woods to the repair shop .... the total cost for the repair (at the time) was in excess of $300.... dumb and dumber strikes again!!
