Very informative.
I've never used any scent control before besides washing my clothes in baking soda - that is until last year. I had been hunting a bottom and the wind kept swirrling. I'm not sure if the deer smelled me or not (I was 15ft high in a VERY exposed tree [the only tree I could get the stand in]) but I kept on having problems. I don't have enough experience with the stuff to decide if it's worth buying again. I may as well use it this year on public land though.

Some sents / masks can acually spook a deer if used improper or at the wrong time. One problem you may be incounterin' with this stand you mentioned is that if it is exposded as you say, you may be sky-lineing. It may be nessisary to have a skirt wrap around the stand & possably a canapy as well. BUT, to do this, it should be in place WELL before season to let the deer get used to seeing it there. I have had to use a scarecrow type figure in a couple stands just to get the buck using the piece. There was always evidence that the buck vistited my stand regularly, but when I sat in the stand, he always kept just outta range. So I realized, he could see me in there even though I thought I was conceled. So a put a dummy in my stand (no, not me PBR ;D) & conceled myself on a makeshift ground blind, without altering my surrounding all that much. This buck already proved he Knew his terrain. Well, it wasn't long before the deer were headin past my stand. A half dozian does & a hand-capped spike that looked mentally challenged. Just as I had predicted, the 10 pointer cross 20 yards to my left.................POW. I was makin' sausage a couple days later . That smiley isn't stickin' his tounge out, he's lickin' sausage juice off of his lips.

That smiley isn't stickin' his tounge out, he's lickin' sausage juice off of his lips. ;D Yeah, I believe I was skylined. On private land, they would of probably came in. On the public though, they slyly walked away in the other direction like nothing was wrong.
