A few months ago I completly took apart my Mark II and cleaned every nook and cranny. It resulted in it functioning well. So the only problem that remained was the loose front site. I don't know where you guys get your loct-tite from but there's none around here. There is superglue in stores though and now it's snug still after a few hundred shots

Sending it back to Ruger will fix it for free and GUESS WHAT, you can send it UPS. Just call Ruger and they will give you a pickup order for it and probably even pay shipping to them. Life does get easy if you don't fight it Red

Yep Bill, and any of the rest of us would take advantage of that great customer service and all would be well.. But somehow, if Red sends the gun back to Ruger, it will turn into another PBR adventure... ..You know the kind. An adventure that would end up slandering the good name of Ruger, UPS, and several dozen other people we never heard of before... ;D...Heck, some innocent young girl would probably get involved, somehow, and the whole thing would turn into a bizarre ordeal that would generate 100's of posts and several new threads... ;D ;D Hmmm, might be good for the forum, even if it does take 4 or 5 years off Red's lifespan... ;D

I'll slander the good name of Ruger and UPS right now - 1 year later. Heck, I bet my blood pressure is up 50 points right now Called Ruger last Summer. I told the gal only about 20% of the time will the gun work - she said "yeah it sounds like a problem" Well no kidding... When I asked who paid the shipping, they said I pay to send it there. I call UPS and get into it with them. I can't take it to a UPS retail store - I have to take it to the main st. louis warehouse. Why? I don't freaking know!!! It would of been too easy for them to package it, wait for the big damn truck, load it on the big damn truck, and take it to the warehouse themselves. So I call the warehouse for pricing. Well they say they can't ship it on the ground, they have to ship it the most expensive (I mean fastest) way possible - which was 40 bucks. I figured 40 bucks would buy a lot of super glue. So I'm sitting at home trying to get the super glue to come out of the bottle because it's glued over. I keep squeezing and squeezing and all of a sudden half the bottle goes and spluges all over my face (now I know how a girl feels) I proceed to wipe my face off with my hands and a few fingers were then stuck together and I got all this dry glue all over my face and shirt. Finally got my hands unstuck. So I glue the screw thread but had to guide it in with my finger because the screw was so small. Now I glued myself to my gun. Bottom line - got mad, got hurt, looked stupid, ruined clothes, and fixed the gun for free

Now all I need to do is fix my marlin - unfortunatly the schematics blew away in a wind storm...no serouisly I walked inside for a second to get a screwdriver and I came back and the papers were no where to be found.
I'd call Marlin but I think they'd recognize my voice from when I went ape **** on them a few years ago about how every marlin bolt action that was ordered was damaged because the gun is bigger than the box they ship it in. grrrr

[quote Loc-Tite should be available at Lowes or Home Depot, and definitely at all auto parts stores... [/quote] As klsm pointed out, Lowes & Home Depot are a source that aleays has it in stock. You can also buy it from Brownell's. But you will pay twice as much.

This Ruger Mark II .22 pistol soulds like the one I bought for my son Andy. Is it the long barreled, stainless steel slab sided model? He's quite impressed with it and the accuracy. Mind you, I'm still not thrilled with the rifles, but I've had good luck with Ruger hand guns. Best wishes.

I kick myself every day for being talked out of the slabside.
I have the 5 1/2 inch bull barrel. It gets about 3 - 3 1/2 inches at 25 yards (10 shots)
