well first things first, i gotta get that rifle back from the smith first (in about another week) and shoot it. if it groups well the rest is history. i was getting about an 1 1/2" group on average with a few closer to 1" i'm hoping for 3/4" average when finished. lets face it the 7mm rem mag is a long range round and if i can only get 1 1/2" group at 100 i'll never be able to shoot it much past 200 with authority.

Still, if you can shoot 6 inches at 300, that is plenty of authority with a 7mag.
Totally different ball game if you plan on serouis paper shooting though.

Well, when i got home last fri my target sear was witing for me from midway, heck i ordered it on thurs morning. dropped it in and the trigger pull went from un-bearable to a tad under 2lbs. there is still a lot of creep in it though but the creep is smooth and light so you can work with it. i'll get that taken care of in the near future. now one more question to anyone who might know, the trigger guard assembly for this rifle is s.s. but has their gray finish on it (might be powder coated). if i was to put that in a tubler for a while would it get to a satin s.s. again? or is that finnish to tough and do i need to have it bead blasted first??
