This was on the old forum a few years ago but I forget the results.
I'm just wondering what your kill to #'s of shots rate is.
I'm 6/15 this year jumping rabbits. I consider that pretty decent considering 4 of the rabbits I killed I didn't see when I shot. I normally shoot where I think they are going and I get lucky sometimes.

I guess a lot depends on what you're hunting the little buggers with. I usually use a 12ga. and don't miss very often, maybe 1 miss in 10 shots. Of course when I hunt them the leaves are gone, and the area is not too dense to begin with. I only wish I could nail everything else with the frequency I get rabbit with. Best wishes. Cal - Montreal

Shots per rabbit, hum let me think about that. My reaction time has slowed considerably as I grow older, notice how I build in an excuse. Best honest guess is probably around 6. My shotgun is a SxS 24 ga. with 11/16s oz. no. 5 or 6 shot. Right now long on 5s. No matter what it is a great sport. Biggest problem now is lack of snow here right now. Went from 17"s in Dec. to bare ground.

Talk about a 24 Gauge lol I seen a whole set of Winchester experimental shotguns in the model 59. Among them was a 24 gauge that winchester thought was going to be the absalute most perfectly awsome quail gun in existance. They made one that was fully functional and worked. It was being sold for $6500. I think with the 59 it must of weighed someplace around 5 lbs. It would of been what winchester thought it was going to be if they just would of carried thru on their design and finished off the gun and sold it. We could of been shooting 24 gauges now instead of 28 gauge.

Hi guys , Last evening 5 shots 5 rabbits average 50 yards Reminton 510 , 4x scope , Winchester subsonics .. I have a sound moderator fitted and use subsonics because although the property is out in the sticks there are some lifestylers within ear shot and the use of standard velocity .22's has resulted in a visit from the swat team because one of these idiots has complained about some one firing a rifle , for god 's sake , in the country where there is wild game and hunters that happens ,they even shoot a cattle beast for food once in a while ..Flint

I can only hope our "country" don't turn that way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Well Don I have considered that possibility, even here. Living 25 miles from Des Moines,Iowas largest city all those city folk are moving to the country to enjoy the country life. Problem is they want to bring all their big city laws, regulations with them. In the city when you here gunfire, someone dies, so they bring their paranoia with them. They are already cramping the country boys lifestyle. I think Charles Engals was right, when you can see smoke from the neighbors chimney its time to move ;D

OOOOOH dear , out again last evening 7 shots for 3 rabbits , looks like the the wheels fell off , 2 easy shots about 20 yards at the same rabbit , then 2 more easy shots at about 25 yards ..Think I have my good eye closed while I yank on the trigger , put it down to not enough practice and loss of form..Flint
