I'd think a frugal guy like you, Red, would drive to Midway and pick up his orders... ;D ;D

Yeah, hunt and fish only about 30-40 minutes away from that city. Of course with my favorite "house" being shutdown there last year, I don't really have a reason to...unless to see my brother...but I don't like him Actually the 3.5 gallons of gas to drive the extra 80 mile round trip would cost more than the shipping

Anyone who has bias against a 50cal sabots / bullets on deer has simply used the wrong bullet that either over penetrated or over expanded. Not totally true. There are many of US out there that believe REAL Muzzleloaders Have sidelocks and shoot patched round balls. And are completely confident in our .45 & .50 cal ball rifles. Well said Jim, well said!! While I normally use a rifled .62 myself, Red must have forgotten what I used this year. I guess Red I need to remind you it was a .45!! BTW in 30 years of hunting all I've ever used was roundball. I've changed my thinking and hold nothing against the rest but only because I think we need to stand together and not fight against each other when we could fight against the bunny huggers!!! BUT traditional IS traditional !!!!

You guys all know I'm about traditional only rules during the muzzleloader season.
What I'm refering to when I said "Anyone who has bias against a 50cal sabots / bullets on deer has simply used the wrong bullet that either over penetrated or over expanded" was not a "traditional" choice arguement. What I was refering to is the piss poor pistol bullets for deer hunting in the market like CVA, the high-end Barnes, and any other brand that just doesn't work right for a lot of people. Someone tries one of these, it fails, and they are turned off against the use of the 44 pistol bullets. Turns out they used the wrong one --- so there is no real need to go from a 50 cal sabot to a 54 or 58.
