There's another picture of me and my rifle a little further along at this site in the gunsmithing forum. muzzleloadermag.infopop.cc/eve/ubb.x The Thread is titled Packdogs at Bookies and the picture is on the second page. The picture is titled "Jim Dannels Rasps" not the best picture since Bookie bounced a lot of flash off my high forehead. ;D Also in the thread DD was asking about younger shooters on. I mentioned a young fellow in the club about 30ish. There is a thread Titled Angus Whadda Chunk Gun. Eric Leonard, nicknamed "Angus" is building a rifle with a 41 lb barrel. Worth checking out with pictures. Angus is a big boy and can handle the rifle. He is also a master machinist and quite talented. In order to do this project on the spindle Shaper He made a special spindle(to resist runout) and cutter to fit Bookies Shaper.

Just about got blinded there from the Reflection Jim. ;D Just don't ask me about my halo. ;D That chunk gun is awsome to say the least. Last guy I helped build a gun was building a chunk gun. Ended up with a gun that weighed no where near as much as that one but he was shooting the national's with it and shooting basically the same load I do with my .58 and smoking them. Those chunk guys get a bit serious. ;D

They sure do Bill! I'm the only one of the guys here that does not have a purpose built Chunk Gun. I'll shoot my Tennesee at the August shoot here. Most of the guys around here are shooting guns between 12 & 20 lbs. That Monster of Erics would wear me out carrying it from the loading bench to the firing line. Eric placed somewhere around 50-55 at the York Shoot this year and he's looking for and edge.

Well he's young, strong as a bull and nearly as big? Hernia on the otherhand could apply to me with a chunk like that.
