Looking at Track of Wolf does not list .32 &.36 cal 13/16" straight barrels in lengths under 42". They do list a 38" 13/16" swamped. Is there a logical or ballistic reason for the long barrels? I can see that the longer sight radius would be helpful. Considering an Illinois/Ohio, probably Vincent style squirrel rifle next since I don't like the fish belly butt stocks sometimes seen.

Just buy the barrel and cut it to length and then use the left over to build a pistol with.

The price difference between the 42 and the 36 makes it more profitable to just sell the 42. And like Bill said, it's easy to cut and hard to add on.
