I just got home froma half day of work and found the box. I need to know if this is normal When you cock the hammer one click goes to halfcock the second click goes almost all the way back the third click fully cocks the gun Maybe 1 time in 10 the gun will cock easily and almost silently on the 2nd and 3rd click. Maybe 1 time in 10 the gun will be so hard to cock onehanded you have to move your thumb a bit to put additional pressure on it or you have to put your other hand on the gun. Is this normal - it's certainly not anything like the 1860 from pietta. But this is obvouisly a uberti walker. Everyone's thoughts? ?

Most old-style single actions - blackpowder or cartridge - I have encountered have three clicks when they are cocked: 1st click - so the hammer/firing pin is not resting on the cap/primter, 2nd click - so you can rotate the cylinder, & 3rd click - brings it to full cock.
Regarding the rough cocking, it could be you have a rough place on the back of the cylinder where (I think it's called) the hand rotates the cylinder. I would try to see if it binds in the same place all the time.

Here we go! ;D ;D I knew this was going to be fun. I never dreamed that it would start this quick. Now if Missouri had a competent gunsmith, that you could get along with, he could probably slick that Walker's action up in no time.

If that don't work report back ;D ;D ;D

Red mine 1st click is haffcock and rotates cilinder, then their are two allmost together at full cock the 2nd click i do not bother with at all and just bring it to full . It had to stop on the 2nd one and not the 3nd anywy but the 2nd locks the cilinder but hammer does not fall if trigger is pulled, but the are soooooo close together I do not use it or trust it in any way and I dont need it for any resion. Load 5 let hammer down on emty camber. Their are tiny pins between the niples that you allso can let the hamer down on...... be carefull and make sure the hammer has engaged the pin and will not trune, I would not recomend useing the pins much and never if carying & hunting.

What a day. The plan was to go deer hunting and it still was So I'm freaking out about this gun, thinking I'm going to spend all afternoon on the phone, have to go to ups, and ruin my evenings hunt. So I get on the phone and with Bennelli for about 10 minutes. Finally this girl answers so I basically asked for some "real" help figuring she's a girl. She said she was the real help I told her what it was doing when cocking slowly. Her reply, "don't cock it slowly". ;D She said it wasn't made for that - it's meant to be cocked fast. The problem seemed to be the wedge in the side of the pistol. It was sticking out about 1/16 to 1/8" and she said it should be flush. So a little tap and the thing is cocking much easier. Probably happened in the shipping process. Now my concern is the wedge falling out since it's flush with the reciever I'm sure it will be even smoother after a few hundred more cocks. Might even help to wipe the oil off it because it was litterally dripping out of the box Overall, very helpfull on the phone Now if I can just figure out how to disassemble (or more importantly reassemble later) the gun because the thing came with no instructions Should be interesting In appearance I have to give it a 4 out 5. There was a little nick in the grip right at the frame. With a mail order, I'm not wasting anyone's time. If it was in a store and they had more, I'd request a new one. But I'm very picky

Red Here's the thing... Chances are that a good cleaning will help, it sounds like some burrs under the saddle. If you don't feel that you can fully strip the gun ship it to me and I will have it back to you in a week or so as this isn't a major job. The gun should have 4 clicks and it should spell COLT as you cock it. The 4th click is the bolt dropping home in the clyinder notch. If you want to try and clean it and don't want to strip the gun take off the backstrap (three screws bottom and back) and take off the grips and put a tube on the WD can and spray the s#it out of the inside. Put the grips and the backstrap back on and try it again. I usually take the Itye guns and strip them and polish them up before I even go to the range, Bounce won't know much about rough ones 'cause he gets his from me and they are all worked before he trys them.

It just struck me... Does anyone else think that Red is a jinx? I think he has the midas touch in reverse and can turn ordinary guns into turd just by buying them!

No I don't think your the only one that has noticed this Two Moons ;D ;D We all have seen this happen on just about everything he owns. And he says he is picky. I say Yes he is. He works on everything until its fully broken. Best advise is "If it ain't broke don't fix it" Just a good cleaning and go shoot it is probably the best thing you can do with it at this time Red. After the seasons are all over with then send it to Two Moons and have him SMOOTH it up.

Thank goodness he is so cheap, I'd hate to see him turn a bunch of expensive guns into turds..... ;D ;D ;D

Red, don't screw this up. take twomoons up on his offer and have a realy nice functioning gun returned to you. (problem is, he's too cheap to put money out for shipping ) so did you get out with your bow this week? (guess i should poke around the deer hunting thread.)
