I just purchased a new Thompson Center Triumph in 50 Cal... I outfitted it with a Nicon Pro Hunter 3 X 9 X 40... I'm heading to the range tomorrow to see if I can hit the broad side of a barn with it ... ... I got it through that catalog place that one of our members works at ... hmmm, I wonder who that is .... Anyway, I'll bring you a report tomorrow ... hopefully, I'll have more luck sighting this one in than I did with the Remington.. It's supposed to be able to take a 150gr of pyrodex and have a muzzle velocity of 2500 FPS with a 250 gr bullet… I like the idea of the ½ turn breach plug and 209 primer… We’ll see what happens … I’m also bringing my 06 and 243 up to the range … I have a chance on going over to Virginia again for another rifle hunt .. so I want to make sure they’re all sighted in ..

Those things are kind of neat for an inline. Good concept. Just hope it works as good as it is claimed to work. Keep some anti-seize on the breach plug just in case though.

Thanks Guys... the range was great today.... I started about 20" high but on center ... 9 shots later I was down to 2" high at 50 meters ... then I shot 5 more shots into a new target ... the 5 shots were about 2" across and 2" high on center ... I think if that thing was warm blooded, I'd be in love... hahahahahahahahahhahaha!!!
I am very pleased with it ... I also took my 06 up there with me and fine tuned the scope I put on it last year.... it's 1" high at 50 meters ... and I grouped 5 shots within 1 3/4" ...
Then it was on to the trap machines ... my wife shot 2 rounds and hit 34 out of 50 ... which for a beginner, I think is real good ... I shot 4 rounds with 91 hits out of 100 ... with my 12ga Rem 1100 and my SXS 20 Spartan... (2 rounds apiece)... I think I'm ready for next Saturday ... when the dove season opens..
My shoulder is a little tender with all those recoils but I'll get over it when I get back in the groove a little...
