What a week to take vacation. I went up to my favorite muzzleloading place a few times (mark twain for jim's info) and it rained 3 straight days. I mean RAINED I didn't see a single deer because of the weather and from rifle season ending just last week. They were very active in the area as I was driving out at night. Last night I camped and woke up in the middle of the night to take a pee and as soon as stepped out of the camper there was a frickin deer standing in the next camp site over. Of course I was camping on state park ground so the deer are tame. I was a little concerned about the sidelock going off in the rain so I shot the rounds at the end of each hunting session. Every single round shot on the first cap with only one hangfire. I was pleasantly suprised as it downpoured. So now I hear we're suppost to get up to 12 inches of snow tommarow and friday morning. By god if we can get a 4 wheel drive on those county roads I'm going to smoke a deer fri, sat, or sun. The place gets so good when there's snow on the ground as it forces the deer to move in the daylight.
