Nonetheless, it's more traditional than a inline.

.... There is just something fundamentally wrong with stainless steel and synthetic, let alone camo synthetic, paired with a pseudo traditional muzzle loader design... In other words...Holy Crap is that freakin' ugly!!!... I just looked closer. Could it be? I think it's a flinter, an even worse sin...

I just can't resist... ;D There is more to this than meets the eye. Not just camo and shiny silver, we're also using the terms "Pyrodex" and "Pellets" in the same breath as "Flintlock" A closer look.... The specs will probably get your stomach churning a little more... This new Traditions flintlock makes loading, shooting and cleaning a breeze. A removable breech plug allows you to clean through the WHOLE barrel. The magnum receiver accepts up to 150 grains of Pyrodex pellets or loose powder. Ignites Pyrodex Pellets 26" Octagonal performance barrel with 1 in 48" twist Removable breech plug system Shoots saboted bullets accurately Includes: Tru-Glo fiber optic adjustable sights A magnum receiver accepting up to a 150 grain magnum powder charge A solid aluminum ramrod Swivels for attaching a sling Takedown allen key supplied Complete instructions and Lifetime warranty information And the worst part....Trtaditions didn't dream it up, they just copied Thomson Centers idea... The Thompson Center Firestorm ( oh yeah, available in camo here in Pennsylvania) The Calm Before The Storm... Designed specifically for ultra-reliable ignition with modern Pyrodex® Pellets, the Fire Storm also has a removable breech plug for easy cleaning from either the breech end or the muzzle. The Fire Storm's massive recoil lug assures solid and consistent barrel lock up for repeatable accuracy, and the all steel click adjustable fiber optic sights aid in precise sight alignment in low light conditions. The Patented Pyrodex® Pyramid (#6,219,951) directs the ignition fire 3600 around the entire base of the Pyrodex Pellet. As the pellets move forward, the flame is drawn up through the center of the pellets - creating a "fire storm" in the breech area for ultra reliable ignition.

Sorry, I just think this is funny! What a joke. I think there is software available that allows a user to take an image such as one of these 'rifles/thingys' and impose it over another even if it isn't a complete picture of the later. i.e. a guy could take a picture of a purist shooting a custom flintlock and make it look like the shooter was shooting one of these thingys. A picture like that would be worth so much, much more than the thingy.
Say Two Moons I was wondering if you would mind ordering one of these Traditions and perhaps a fire storm. Then if by chance I happen to come by your shop someday, I could look these over and decide if I might be interested in purchasing one?

It is funny... ;D But in another way it is sad... It's really sad to me since I'm from Pennsylvania, the state where most of these mongrels are sold. The first year the Firestorm came out, only with a Black stock then... ...the dealers around here couldn't keep them on the shelves. I know 4 guys who all went and bought Stainless versions on a volume buy... Real sad part is that all 4 had fairly decent traditional flintlocks already.... So for all you guys that scorn the allowing of in-lines, even if your state stays true to it's traditional season like Pennsylvania did, somebody will still create some tacky way to destroy any true "tradition". I guess though, that these abortions don't really give anybody an advantage like an in-line does... It is still so freakin' bizzare...

Anyone, who would send a guy on a 400 mile coyote hunting trip with a Bugs Bunny tape for a calling tape, should be able to understand the total absurdity of such rifles as these.
IMO, purchasing one of these would be on the same line as buying a Rolls Royce and start replacing significant parts such as drive line, suspension and engine from a 1960 Rambler American with 200,000 miles on it.
However, I am of the opinion that if someone thinks of these things as viable then go for it. I remember seeing wedding announcements of some of the girls in high school (years after high school), --- to me it is along the same line. If these guys want something like this then maybe I will get to end up with something they might of bought that has some value.
