Seems they are lacking quality control. 7 out of 40 rounds were seated very deep as seen in the pic. Another 3-4 were somewhere in the middle. The shallow seated rounds shot in the 1" to 1 1/2" range. I did not shoot the deep seated rounds; are they safe to shoot? Although they shot good, it seems like a lot of waste product.

Wow, that doesn't speak very highly of the quality control in factory rounds. At the risk of showing my ignorance, who makes Power Points? All the loading manuals say that bullets seated too deeply can raise pressures. I would be reluctant to advise you as to whether or not to shoot the deep seated rounds. Maybe someone else will venture a recommendation. You might try contacting the manufacturer and advising them of the problem and asking them whether or not they would be safe to shoot.

I believe they are made by Winchester. Red, you might send the box back to Winchester. Would not be surprised if they sent you a new box. The deep seated bullets would raise pressure. Might be OK, might not. I think I would not shoot them.

Yes, they are Winchester.
Powerpoints used to be the 2nd best factory ammo the company made, next to only Silvertips. Today, they are the entry level centerfire rounds. Add that to the fact they are cranking rounds out as fast as possible, that does not make for good quality.
I don't think these bullets would even shoot to the same impact point as the other bullets. I'm not a fan of shooting just to make noise, so I think I will pass on shooting these to be safe.
I will be contacting Winchester on this
