Been scrimping and saving for a garage all late summer and early fall. The old one is falling down. SO I know where all my extra after X-mas cash is going. I got a separate savings account for the garage and Have not dipped into it yet. Concrete is getting expensive, Looking at plans it is going to take lots of concrete and maybe even some block walls to get my garage up to the level I am wanting. I have 3 females in the family so the garage is basically going to be my house minus a bath tub and kitchen sink and marital bedroom. Looking at building in a false wall also and possibly a root/fallout/tornado shelter some a basement also. Found 40 yards of 3 foot pipe and the guy wanted it gone so I got a big truck and have it at the house in the back. Can someone say underground basement range/ escape hatch. I over think things sometimes. All I really need is a 3 car garage with a small computer/reloading/shop room. I am of course designing a man cave type garage. We can all dream can't we.
Did a camera job on the side and made a bit more money on it than I thought I was going to and just happened to come up with 1379 dollars the better half does not yet know about. (yet) I am just hanging on to it for now but it is in cash in the safe. She does know about the 1500 profit off the job and it went to furniture for the living room.
I went window shopping and found out that i liked the Kimber Grand Raptor real well. Guess what? if I came up with the tax money I could get it in about 6 months when they make them again. Low and behold they had the Colt 6940 LE model with a acog scope at the shop for sale. About the same cost on the rifle as the Kimber. A python was for sale there also just like the one I bought and a price tag of 1500 only mine does not have the cylinder drag marks on it. I should not go to my gun pushers place when i have unaccounted for money.
I really should just hold on the cash and put it to good work on the garage. WIth interest rates so low right now I can manage a nice loan but I hate debt. This year I have purchase so many guns I need to settle down and just shoot some of those. I guess my home defense rifle is just not in the cards right now but I did bookmark saber defense. The only loan I have right now is one for the house and a small one on a refridge I got when it went out while I was laid off. When i got laid off I have CC over 9'000 and a few other unknow wife loans that I have completely got paid off. I have enough money to get through the winter without a paycheck also.
