That's the problem taking trips in the winter/spring. You never know if you're going to be sick.

you know you're getting old when you pay more in meds to take with you for a trip than you do in beer

I don't know about you, but I find that Wiskey is the perfect pain killer and opens up your sinuses !

here's a nice little brown from fri morning. it's a bad picture as far as being focused but i didn't take it since i'm in it. next one is a blow up of the fish but the picture was not set up well. this next one is of a guy who joined us this year for the first time. i'm pretty sure he wants to go again next year. it's a 7lb Brown caught at the end of the day on Fri. here's the gang (minus me) sitting around fri afternoon relaxing after a nice day of fishing. there were a few more nice fish caught but these are the only photo's i have. the dam is running dead shad and the fish are feasting on them.

Jack. Fri morning started out about mid 20's but was getting close to near 60 by the end of the day. while mid 20's is not real cold, it sure does cut throug you when you're on the water running a boat.

When you said "church group" last year, I was under the impression there was 20 or so people.
Not the case
7 is just about perfect

yea Red, the eighth man bailed on us this year so one guy got to rid with the guide by himself. food once again was great, we had rib eyes on thurs night, went out for dinner on fri night and fried fish sat night. went through about 10 -12 bottles of good wine, some Bailey's, Grey Goose vodka, and a few cigars although i did not partake in those as my cold was finaly leaving me and my throat was just beginning to feel good. and of course a few brews thrown in too. by going the time of the year we do we get an almost 40% price break on the house we rent. it's been a long cold winter and to tell the truth, those folks (the guides) are very glad to see us. by picking our day still in th eweek this time of the year it gets them a nice full weekend of guiding and money. during the summer they stay busy pretty good, but right now they're a bit slow. our guide realy went out of his way for us and was very professional, makes you feel like it is money well spent. this was probably my last trip with the guys though as i have huge expense around the corner with the kids for the next few years.

I'd get rid of the guide and save some more money
Dad I used to go to Arkansas and never did hire a guide. The very first time we went there we just stalked a guide the first day to figure out the 5-6 spots where he took his clients.
Then we stole his spots ! ;D
