Thanks guys. Sorry I haven't gotten' back sooner. Had a few family things to take care of .. Seb ~ To date, I haven't made any lamps from horns as such. I have made lamps out of deer, bear, moose feet. Also made ashtrays, gun racks, coat hangers, wall thermometers, out of these feet. Several years back, I helped my dad make a coffee table for a costumer using the legs from a slow elk- (thats a cow ;D). I have made a sounder a couple years back for my uncle. I used one of his original blow horns made back in the 1700's. The original one sounds better then mine tho. ;D ;D. The tools I use to make powder horns very. For deep cuts I use a verity of files & rasps. For more shallow cuts & for fine definition, I use my Fordom, sharp knives, dremel, ect.. I also made/make pendents using Bear claws, with a silver cap, & some type of gemstone fastened to the silver cap. They look cool.

How ya doin' Seb ~ My dad has been doin' Taxidermy now since 1961 at the age of 14. In those 45 years, he has alot of places to get different products for his trade. I use his connections to get the majority of what I need. One place in particular is Moscow Hide & fur.... www.hideandfur.com . www.eBay.com is another great place to get supplies. Not to long ago, my dad was cleanin' out one of the 8 freezers, & was gonna chuck 6 bear skulls in the trash because the customer didn't want them. I ended with them. If they are in poor condition then I will pull out the large k9's. If the skull isn't to deteriorated, I with process it & possibly scrimshaw them. Now when I mount deer feet, I will order a form for the mounts. Oh yea. I think Moscow also sell resin or simulated claws as such, usually alot cheaper then real claws. But I still prefer real thing over fake.

Hi Stump,...Do you think the "Moscow Hide & Fur" will accept order from me in Indonesia? Do they work worldwide?? No problem with US regulations etc??? I would like to order some antlers (whitetail & elk, i think) if they do....or maybe from you, the expert on this matter?... Many thanks in advance, seb.

Seb ~ I'll look to see what requirements are needed for international orders & I'll drop them a line as well. www.eidnesfurs.comI haven't dealt with these folks for quite some time. I actually forgot about them until just now.
