If I was to hunt a Buffalo, I would use my 45-70. But I would not feel undergunned with my 300 Win Mag. Shot placement is everything. And for the record, have taken many deer with a 243 with an 87 gr. bullet. Again it's all about shot placement. End of story. Bill great story.

Biggest problem they all had was anatomy. None knew for sure where the heart was or asked before they went. If you hit a buffalo in the right spot just about anything will work but if you hit them in the wrong spot a .505 Gibbs won't even do it.

Thats a very good point Bill. Before hunting anything a person should practice; research; and learn about the critter he/she is going after.
