I haven't heard anyone say whether or not missouri birds are gobbling. It's been cold here so if they are the are probably just in the southern part of the state and only the first few minutes of light. Another week of this 60-70 degree weather and that should get things started. I've driven by birds in the fields and the males and females are still separated with no action going on.

I had even had to stop for a pair of toms fighting on the road. It looks like they're gearing up hot and heavy. And theres some BIG BOYS around again this year.

The weather here has been in the mid 70's the last few days but I haven't gotten anywhere to see what the turkeys are doing. ::)And the only Tom roaring around here is Tom down the street when his dog gets loose I had yesterday off but still had to go in for a couple hrs but part of that I made use of by mounting my new scope on my 1500 yd praire dog rifle and oggling it for a while. ;D

Spring Goose season
Bad blizzard last week roads were closed for a couple of days. Yesterday 81 degrees in Rapid City. The SE part of the state is flooding (not too bad) but the snow is disappearing and fast.

Our Virginia spring season won't open 'til mid-April - nearly always after all the toms have gathered in their hens. I sometimes think it's a conspiracy.

Well the birds are everywhere!!!!! It seems like every hillside has turkeys on it. They are so wound up that you can stop and honk the horn and they'll gobble back at you!!!

I was driving to work yesterday and it was the first time I saw a bird strutting this year. All the birds I've seen so far have been all males or all females. But we're still a little early --- we've only been out of winter temps for a couple of weeks now.

I had to cancel out on the wifes new Beretta turkey gun today. Yesterday the TV went POP and that was the last of it. Now we need a new TV. She said a new TV was more important than a gun. Course if its a HD LCD 32" it does have its possibilitys. ;D

She still has her browning Citori O/U 20 gauge she can use. She keeps hitting about 8"s low with it though and I need to add something like moleskin to the top of the stock to get her POI up a bit. Not a problem though. But it does get a bit heavy for her to carry.
