I have all of the camo I need but was up by my brother's a couple of weekends ago and found out he can't hunt the entire time. That means I if I don't bag a turkey in the first couple of days I will be hunting alone and probably need to purchase a turkey call. Any suggestions? YEA, i suggest you call donnie and have him come up and call for ya. ;D hey just trying to halp a couple of folks out.

My brother had a turkey call he said was great but if the humidity was high it didn't work. The thing is about practicing at home is that the wife would comment that she was right all along about me BEING a turkey!.

Well last weekend I went up to my brother's and him, I, and a couple of his buddies fixed up a few turkey blinds. His buddies will be hunting the week before us so we should have an idea where they are hanging around.
I still need to pick up the shells and the gun but those are minor things.

I'm a fan of blinds. I'm also a fan of "runnin and gunnin" going after the turkeys. I'm not a fan of doing both on the same day.
I'm a big believer that if you sit in the same spot for 8 hours, you will have a bird come into range. I just don't have the patience and find myself leaving the blind at about 9am. Then I'm basically starting from scratch.
I also think you'll have 2 or 3 chances/encounters of some sort a day if you keep on the move. Give out some loud calls and move on a couple hundred yards if nothing responds. Maybe sit down 45 minutes or an hour if you find a spot that looks good. But I like to keep on the move.
